A Little About My Work:
I've been working as a copywriter for an ad agency in Indiana since August of 2000.
You may view a few examples of my advertising/marketing writing here.
In addition to writing pieces like these, I spend much of my time working on: creative rationales, new-business proposals, new-product concepts for focus-group testing (particularly for Bank of America), and much more.
Prior to working as a full-time writer, I was a project administrator for a Web development company. So besides writing, I develop Web site plans for clients, and also help out our Account Executives when necessary.

Recent Successes:
- Worked with a colleague to create a new-business presentation which brought my agency a new account worth $50,000. The client is our local newspaper, which, like many papers across the nation, has seen a dramatic downturn in subscription sales over the last several years -- in part due to news availability via the Web. We created a whole new concept for the publication's TV advertising ... and it appears to have worked! Our ad began running in Q1 of 2004, and to date, the paper has reported its first-ever increase in its subscription base in 16 years! As a result, my agency is now seeing the potential for even more work from this client.
- Wrote portions of, and brought in outside resources to help produce, a formal response to an RFP on behalf of our client, Bank of America. As a result of this RFP response, the Bank won a new strategic partnership which is expected to prove very lucrative.
- As a result of nationwide promotions for Boost Nutritional Energy Drink in Q4 2003, the product is experiencing its highest-ever share in the adult nutritional beverage market. It's a great achievement, as my team has only worked on the Boost account for about a year and a half. The promotion included a sweepstakes backed by a nationwide FSI, in-store support materials, and a Web-based entry method. Best of all, as of Q2 2004, the product is still seeing sales lift from the promotion!
My Work Philosophy:
I am truly committed to serving my clients, and to producing work that meets or, hopefully, exceeds their expectations. As a result, I do what it takes to meet deadlines and do good work. I hope for the same dedication from my teammates and supervisors.
By the same token, I have a strong desire to continually learn and improve upon my skills. I find that my broad range of interests serves me well in my work, because writing for clients in a variety of industries gives me the chance to learn constantly. In addition, I try to do plenty of reading
about writing, so that I can further nurture my natural talents.

- "One of Beth’s many strengths is her versatility, coupled with her ability to strategically determine the most appropriate style of writing for any particular client and ad. She is capable of straightforward direct ad copy as well as poetic, more enigmatic prose. I have seen clients over and over again be amazed at how precisely Beth is able to communicate their visions."
- "Any company would be fortunate to have Beth join their team. Her enthusiasm, sharp writing and analytical skills and positive nature set her apart as an outstanding employee."
- "I supervised Beth during her employment in the interactive division of Golden Dome Media. She joined our group in the fall of 1999, and quickly proved her outstanding organizational and team leadership capabilities.
Her ability to work as part of a cohesive team – blending the interests and needs of our own managers and technical staff with those of our clients – was crucial. Additionally, Beth demonstrated a fantastic work ethic and strong commitment to exceeding expectations in all facets of her position."
